Overview
Komandoo Island is an adult-only resort located in the northern Lhaviyani atoll, only 500m long and 200m wide and with access to 50 dive sites across the atoll. This is a simple, but comfortable resort so is ideal for divers and snorkellers looking to spend lots of time in the water and relax in comfort in between.
In Depth
Being a small adult-only resort, Komandoo is a charming island run by a wonderful and charming team, resulting in a peaceful atmosphere with guests returning year after year. The bungalows both overwater and on the beach are well appointed and constructed in light woods, giving them a rustic, but fresh feel. Minimum board basis at the resort is Full Board, with excellent value All-Inclusive options, and the quality of the food both at buffet-style Falhu and Aqua (International) is very good. Head to Kandu Bar overlooking the lagoon or Thundi Bar on the beach for a post-dive cocktail and not have to worry about the bill at the end!
The Diving
One of the leading dive centres in the Maldives, Prodivers, have a PADI 5* centre located on the island and run seamless dive trips for all levels of divers to around 50 dive sites across the atoll. Prodivers have been exploring the Maldives for around 30 years, so it is easy to see why this is a firm favourite with seasoned divers of the Maldives. As well as a huge range of dive sites to choose from, one of the higlights at Komandoo is right on the doorstep: the house reef. Whether you are diving or snorkelling, this is one of the most colourful reefs in the Maldives and expect to see an array of hard and soft coral, many reef fish species, turtles cruising by and reef sharks too.
Beyond the Reef
The resort offers a range of activities beyond diving, including private dining experiences, watersports, a spa, luxury sailing day trips, sunset cruises, sport fishing to name just a few.
