Petit St. Vincent
"For those looking to get away from it all, PSV is the perfect retreat, with no wi-fi in the rooms and only the sound of the waves lapping and the Caribbean breeze to be heard" - India, Reefscape Travel Director
Overview
Petit St Vincent is a 115-acre private island paradise with a collection of low-key luxury cottages dotted over a verdant landscape fringed with white sand beaches. This island escape is home to some of the best dive sites in the Caribbean and a fantastic Jean-Michel Cousteau dive centre.
In Depth
Made up of just twenty-two one and two-bedroom cottages, the accommodation on Petit St. Vincent is tastefully decorated in neutral tones with stunning views over the turquoise Caribbean sea. The island has a wild and unmanicured feel, giving guests a sense of how the Caribbean used to be before tourism boomed. The food and service levels are excellent, with the two restaurants serving up a mixture of local seafood cooked to perfection with Caribbean flair, and imported meats of the highest quality. With daily changing menus even the most discerning foodies will be delighted with the menus and the settings are stunning; either at the main Pavilion Restaurant or at the beach restaurant and bar with the sound of the waves lapping on the shore.
The Diving
The island’s Jean-Michel Cousteau dive centre is run by an enthusiastic team of three instructors who have dived all over the world and hold very high safety standards. A full complement of PADI courses are offered for those looking to get certified, and for more experienced divers, two dives a day allows the chance to explore the thriving local reefs. Nitrox is available for certified divers. Snorkellers can visit the resort’s coral garden where conservation efforts are in place to replant branching hard corals.
Beyond the Reef
Diving aside, there is plenty to get up to whilst staying at Petit St. Vincent. This is a great chance to switch off from the wifi and switch on to nature and the beautiful island surroundings. An array of water sports is on offer, including windsurfing, sailing and kite surfing, or kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding for those looking for something more sedate. There are a couple of fantastic entry-points to enjoy a swim too. The island has a tennis court, outdoor fitness area and an indulgent spa too. Day trips on a larger sailing boat can be arranged too, for guests who wish to explore nearby islands.
