LUXURY DIVING HOLIDAYS IN Grenada

Beyond the Reef

There is so much more to diving holidays in Grenada beyond the reef, so those who need to keep moving will find plenty to keep them entertained whilst staying on this vibrant island. In August, the annual Grenadian ‘Spicemas’ carnival is a real highlight, with floats of extravagantly dressed local dance groups parading through town and the colours and music creating a visual assault on the senses. Year round, excellent food can be enjoyed at local restaurants, with a trip to Gouyave on a Friday allowing guests to experience a local fish fry showcasing the best of traditional Grenadian food and a great family atmosphere.

Rent an open top jeep and explore the island at your leisure, with a drive down the Atlantic coast at sunset being particularly special. Hikes up to local waterfalls with an expert guide are a highlight for nature enthusiasts, where monkeys and the island’s 150 species of birds dart amongst the rainforest canopy. Levera Beach in the north of the island is a site for nesting leatherback turtles, and guests visiting at the right time of year may be in with a chance of seeing these rare reptiles hatching and returning to the sea. A trip to the West Indies would not be complete without a little time spent sailing, and there is a wide array of options available whether looking to island hop or just enjoy some sundowners on a luxury catamaran.
